I am very excited to say that we did infact buy an iMac........we are keeping this one as well for Mannie's business which was the plan..........he wanted me out of his office and computer.
So now I will be really trying to get a grip on the ole' scraproom...........Nora graciously tried to help me organize the mess last summer........and with her help, I almost got there but there is still more to organize. I am feeling very unorganized in general in the house.........the shoe basket nightmare, Mannie's office which we are trying to get a grip on and my scraproom are the biggies I am going to try to tackle this week.
So, other than that........we had a Chinese dinner party in honor of the science table and the upcoming Olympics!! I was watching the Today show this morning and they were playing the Olympic theme and I got butterflies in my stomach!!! I LOVE the Olympics...........yes for the events....but mostly because it is just a walk down memory lane for me............an AMAZING memory lane of being in Altanta in 1996 for the most fabulous party, unforgettable memories with one of my best friends, patriotic love of country and of course meeting the man of my dreams!!
I want to go to China sooooooooooooooooooooo badly and now would be THE best time to be there. Everyone there for the fun..........I want to see that birds nest stadium in person lit up at night. I want to go to the Forbidden City, Summer Palace, the Great Wall and all the beautiful mountain places.......it seriously looks like the most beautiful place on earth. We have been watching the Travel Channel's coverage of China, I think I have seen every episode twice now.
So, we are studying counting to 10 in Chinese.........which is kinda silly b/c I am teaching the kids the numbers and I don't even know if I am pronouncing them correctly. We made the flag out of construction paper........and today we had mommy's attempt at honey chicken with noodle, oranges, broccoli, carrots, rice and fortune cookies.....the noodles didn't come out so great because I was throwing a mixture of the chicken recipe and the recipe of the noodle box. So I served dinner on our good China, get it?.....with red paper plates as an accent.
We played "Iron Chef" tonight........it was cute. I was cooking the dinner and the kids cooked the dessert with Mannie, peach/apple pie (which has nothing to do with China but we have lots of Costco peaches)........Mannie was being the narrator, it was funny. Then everyone was taste testing the dinner like they were the judges on the show. You had to be there it was cute. Cara didn't like the noodles so she said she loved everything except the noodles. Charlie felt bad for me, so he picked up a speck of a noodle, ate it and said, "I give mommy a 10 for noodles". ........he is such a cutie.
Cara wanted her hair done like Maddy from Jon and Kate Plus 8 with chopsticks in the bun........then Cami wanted to be like her big sis........overall, a fun night.
