Anniversary dinner.
Homemade sourdough burger buns.
Grilled Bacon Cheddar cheeseburgers with grilled red and green peppers.
corn on the cob, partially grilled.
green beans.
fruit kabobs.....made by the kids.
I am starving and my mouth is watering just thinking about it all.
We had a nice night that ended at the pool, kid heaven.
Time to go see if the food fairy magically appeared in my kitchen and is preparing a feast for tonight! ;)

Today is the 13th anniversary of our wedding!!!
I am going to give Mannie the present I ordered a month or 2 ago.....the custom heart map of "US"....I posted.
I came downstairs to flowers on the kitchen table and in front of my computer....Mannie had left for work already!
We decided on bacon burgers and corn on the cob grilled out back for tonight's celebration! Which just reminded me that I need to go out back and clean!
Our summer just can't seem to start.....today we have the bee man over to get rid of a bee colony that moved in and now tomorrow we have to meet with a roof guy to fix the hole where the bees and apparently some birds had made a home.
I also need to clean my scraproom.
Just a lot of to do's and I feel partially bad for the kids on the one hand and then on the other, they are old enough to chip in and help keep things clean here so I am taking full advantage of my helpers!
Since today is "Make it on Monday" here......we are going to build a rocket, do a little "cooking"....(making fruit kabobs and something sweet) and some sort of craft but didn't plan on anything specific.
Right now the kids are reading and doing some work.
Once we can get all that stuff squared away, we can have some fun and I can celebrate with my wonderul husband!
I still feel priviledged to be able say the word, "Husband".
I don't take his love for granted and completely feel like a lucky girl to have met such an amazing person! I still pinch myself and wonder what I did to deserve such a guy!
I guess I did a lot of praying, to be honest with you. I really did back in the single years when I was a disaster trying to figure out my life and wondering if a husband was going to be a part of it! LOL at the fact that I was in my early 20's thinking my life was passing me by at fast rates......boy, it just goes to show you how a 20 year old brain is unable to understand the "big picture".
I kissed a lot of toads and met some really wonderful guys but the chemistry didn't match and finally the day came when I met HIM!
Picture above is the second day I knew him......have I posted before? Can't remember, I have written a lot of posts actually so I am sure I have repeated myself many a time!
Anyway, in the above picture I am thinking to myself......."Wow, he has his arm around me!!!!!! Please don't take it away!!!!"
And I still feel that way!

Cleaning bird cages......
So, the question is.....How to make cleaning closets and laundry this much fun???
Well, today I woke to a gorgeous day, no June gloom!
For me, the sun is so motivating...I tend to be sluggish and slow on the June gloom days and of course most days I can't be sluggish and slow so the June gloom makes it that much more difficult to get moving!
But today, I have 3 of my big "to do's" crossed off my list and between that and the sunshine, I feel like I could conquer Everest if I wanted to! :)
Mannie is working this weekend which is good and bad. Good for work is good (income) and good for that gives me more time to dedicate to organizing for summer! Bad because he is working and not able to relax or do something fun for himself!
Goals for today:
1. get the Mommy school stuff together!
2. Plan of action for the week!
3. Decide on what needs to be done in the backyard and possibly start on it.
4. Think about the 4th of July!
5. Try to squeeze in something fun to do TODAY for the kids! Otherwise, they will be either on the computer or destroying their clean rooms!!!
6........forget about my closet until tomorrow!!!! Can't deal today with that one!
Here is Cami's new "clean" room! Believe me when I say, this is organized!!! She has SO MANY stuffed animals and toys that she is not ready to part with and limited space in her room (and that is without a bed in it!!!) I think the papers on the wall and the plastic organizers sort of make it look a bit cluttered still. So even though she is more organized, it will be a few more years until we can perfect a system for her.
This is Charlie's......Cami sleeps in there.....or on the floor in my room on a sleeping bag! ;)
Here is Cara's.....Cara's was the most rewarding because she is growing up and doesn't want as many toys and clutter around her. She has one plastic drawer full of dolls, stuffed animals and horses and it finally dawned on me to make room in her closet for that so we did. What a difference that made! No more cheezy plastic organizer to stare at! I wish I could figure out a way to hide Cami's organizer!

Funny thing...we are going away in a couple of weeks and Cara was discussing who would watch Hopper while we were gone.....she was quite set in her opinion of who could or could not watch her baby! Mannie said, "Cara sounds like Mommy!"
In other news.....today is the great SUMMER CLEAN OUT!
I needed to take a break from cleaning so I decided to post something....
So far today, I have tackled Cara and Cami's rooms.
We took everything out and then only put back the things that they wanted. So now I have a hallway full of crap! Some of that crap I may want to keep though so it is just sitting there while I think about what to do with it. The other crap was put into bags to give to someone else who just might think that crap is FAB!
I had Charlie and Cara sorting his Legos back into their proper color boxes....that was a huge job too!
Now I have Charlie's room which I can easily do today since the real big job of Lego sorting is done.
My room however is maybe too big of a job to contemplate for now. I may need to wait on that one. I think the best thing I can do for myself would be to just tackle my closet...it is always a tough one for me because I don't actually wear 70% of what is in there but if I give that 70% away, then I would be in big trouble for that random day when I need something a little fancier or I don't know what...sometimes, the clothes I don't actually wear are good for those emergency/desperation clothes days.
If I do get rid of 70% of the clothes, that means the remaining 30% is in desperate need of a washing...my clothes are always to low man on the laundry totem pole.
In scrapbook related news....I did manage to scrap ONE LO for the end of the school year for Cara and I am in the middle of another one for Charlie.
I have thought about Project Life here and there and then sort of sighed in disgust....maybe I will just actually scrapbook LO's for the summer and skip the photo sleeves for the summer? I don't know but I am in definite Project Life Burn out right now.
I feel like by the end of this weekend, I will be ready to think about the fact that it is actually SUMMER!
I have done nothing to prepare for summer....I found our summer "Mommy School" binders from last year and was quite impressed with my planning! This summer I have nothing yet for Mommy School and I have to move on it before they get out of the "school" mode and into the "When we wake up, we turn on the t.v. and computer" mode!
Keeping them cleaning and organizing has helped with that upcoming problem (for today anyway).
The girls are happy with their "new" rooms......Cara was twirling in her room with a big smile saying, "Oh, I feel SO FREE!".....I know that feeling, that feeling of all the clutter gone from your life....it is freeing.
My plan is to paint and possibly even get her a new comforter in September....and she still needs a "big girl" desk....after all, she is almost in 4th grade!!!
I gave Cami the one Cara had been using since kindergarten and fixed it up a little. I still can't believe she will be in first grade and doing "serious" homework!
Cami wants a new paint job in her room too! I am not as tired of the color of her room because we have only had to look at it for 6 years vs. the 9 of Cara's color scheme and comforter.
Well, I am absolutely rambling aren't I???
I think will go now and have a little snack and then get back to work!

I have been waiting for this last day of school for so long and now as I sit here after dropping off Cami for the last time in kindergarten, I am a total emotional disaster.
I am so happy it is summer but at the same time, I wished for this day to come and now that it is here, I can't help but see how I was wishing away precious time.
My Cam and I no longer will have our special morning time. I can't believe she will be in school all day next year. I also am really going to miss the group of families in Cami's class and her teacher.
I feel emotional over the whole thing and I think Mannie thinks I am quite dramatic....I suppose I am. I over think, that is just who I am, an overthinker!
Mannie and I took Cami to Cinnamon Productions for a date after we dropped off Cara and Charlie at Cami's request.
I do feel a sense of relief that I am done with all the little things for the end of the year(ahem...memory books).
I am excited about summer.
I am not excited about the big chore I have put on our shoulders though. I told the kids that we all had to reorganize our rooms before any fun summer stuff can start up! That is a major task as we have all let our rooms "go" so to speak.
So, Lisa! I forgot to get a nice shot of the teacher gifts but this is the main gift: an ice cream bowl and spoon set....I threw in some syrup and sprinkles and a gift certificate to Baskin Robbins (an ice cream store here...do you have those in Australia?)

Well, time to go I suppose. I should have made plans with some other mom's because I am feeling so sad right now, I wish I had company.
Why do the kids have to grow up? They mean so much to me!

We got her at the 4H club meeting last night...$10......her birthday is April 22nd! (Mikey ;)
Precious! I saw the tiniest little bunnies last night....like as tiny as your hand! Amazing.
Time to get back to my big to do list but just wanted to show off our new little cutie!

Just got a note sent home TODAY that lice has been found in the classroom AGAIN!!! Not my kid......let's hope! Another lice episode at home could just put me over the edge! I am tempted to just keep the kids home rather than risk getting lice 2 days before summer!!!! 2 DAYS BEFORE SUMMER!!!
My last kindergarten carnival is tomorrow!
Up to my eyeballs in laundry but the kids are helping so that is somewhat helpful....I don't even care about the kid folding jobs just so long as it keeps disappearing from the family room which is the first stop on the clean laundry train!
We may or may not be adding to our family!!
Yep....may or may not be adopting 2 bunnies tonight! Will depend on how I react when I see the little cute fuzzy bunnies! and on how much work it entails..and if the workload is kid friendly! The only thing that is letting this idea even exist is that the bunnies will be outdoor pets!

I finished the 3 memory books I had been working on, now I just need to finish up the teacher's sample book! So I am almost there!!!!
The kids and I had such a hard time getting out of bed this morning. We all said, "Only a few more days!!!" but they were going to have a fun day today.....reading day!
Each day will be fun but the dragging out of bed and making lunches just never gets fun, does it?
Anyway, time to go back to work!
